Backflow Testing Questions
What is backflow testing and why do I need it?
A backflow prevention assembly protects the public drinking water supply from contamination caused by cross-connections, such as irrigation systems, boilers, or fire lines. Most local water purveyors require these assemblies to be tested annually by a certified tester, with the results submitted as a test report. Properties that do not comply may receive a compliance notice or have water service interrupted.
How often do I need a backflow test?
Most water providers require a backflow test once a year. Your water provider sets the schedule and usually sends a notice when the test is due. Some properties, such as buildings with fire lines, can have extra requirements. If you are not sure when your assembly was last tested, call or text us and we will help you sort it out.
How long does a backflow test take?
A routine test is usually a short visit. The exact time depends on the type and size of the assembly, how easy it is to reach, and whether it passes. A small irrigation assembly at a home is usually quicker than a large commercial or fire line assembly. Call or text and we can tell you what to expect for your property.
What's the difference between an RPZ and a double check valve?
A reduced pressure zone (RPZ) assembly has two check valves plus a relief valve that opens and drains water if pressure between the checks gets too close to the supply side. It is used for high-hazard connections. A double check valve assembly has two check valves and no relief valve, and is used for lower-hazard connections. Your water provider decides which one you need.
What happens if my backflow preventer fails the test?
We are certified to perform both testing and repair, so a failed assembly can typically be repaired on-site using manufacturer-approved parts. If the assembly cannot be repaired, we will walk you through replacement options. A retest is performed once repairs are complete, and the updated report is submitted to the water authority.
Water Heater Questions
Do you work on tankless water heaters?
Yes. We repair and replace tankless water heaters, gas and electric, along with standard tank models. We have installed and serviced Navien tankless units, among others. If your tankless heater shows an error code, runs out of hot water, or is not keeping up with your household, call or text and we will help you figure out the next step.
Drain and Leak Questions
How do I know if I have a slab leak?
Common signs are a water bill that jumps for no clear reason, the sound of running water when everything is off, warm or damp spots on the floor, new cracks in flooring, and a water meter that keeps moving with every fixture closed. If you notice any of these, call or text us. We will find the source before we open anything up.
General Plumbing Questions
Do you do general plumbing, or only backflow?

Do you work on commercial buildings?
Yes. Commercial properties, including restaurants, retail buildings, churches, and offices, receive the same plumbing and backflow services we provide to residential customers.

How do I schedule?
Call or text Glenn at (479) 719-1263. Tell us what is going on, where the property is, and a good time to reach you. For a backflow test, it helps to have the notice from your water provider handy. We will find a time that works for you.
